I second what  Poohblah wrote about the lighting, softer and more even light (maybe with one more light from the bottom) would probably look a bit better. Cutting the top of her head and the end of her ponytail probably wasn't necessary (if you still wanted to cut something, I'd suggest cutting more of the ponytail and leaving more space in front of her).

I too find the lighting a tad harsh (strong highlights on the face and very dark shadows behind her head), but I love everything else. The composition, subject matter, that awesome red background, sharpness, etc., are all great. Nice work! Brave lady!
